BALII and BAAMC organize courses for brokers and investment advisers

The courses are organized for the eleventh consecutive year. From September 2020 during the weekend the Bulgarian Association of Asset Management Companies (BAAMC) together with the Bulgarian Association of Licensed Investment Intermediaries (BALII) organize training courses for candidates wishing to take exams before the Financial Supervision Commission (FSC) for obtaining certificates and respectively legal capacity as brokers and investment advisers. This tradition of the Associations has been maintained for twelve consecutive years.

The courses will start on September 19, 2020 and will continue until November 1, 2020. It is also planned outside the form of the course, with additional payment, a triel exam on November 7, 2020 and additional classes (exercises) as well as consultations.

The spring course for brokers and investment advisers of BALII and BAAMC will be provided in case that 16 or more students are recruited.

The training will take place in a hall in the Sofia Tech Park complex in Sofia.

For the courses

One of the main goals is the future brokers and investment advisers to be not only theoretically but also practically prepared for all aspects of their work, so that their competence and skills are adequate and meet the applicable market requirements. Brokers and investment advisers are the professionals whose efforts are instrumental in restoring investor confidence in the capital market.

The training is conducted by the following lecturers:

– Prof. Dr. Stefan Petranov – Faculty of Economics, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski ”(Sofia University);

– Vasil Karaivanov – Assistant Professor, Faculty of Economics, Sofia University, PhD candidate;

– Ivan Dimitrov, CFA – Portfolio Manager, “KBC ASSET MANAGEMENT” HV – BRANCH;

– Petar Radkov – Head of the Risk Assessment and Analysis Department of the Bank Deposit Guarantee Fund (BDGF);

– Georgi Malinov – Procurator of Elana Fund Management AD, Chairman of the Legal Committee of BAUD.

For the candidates who have successfully passed the broker exam before the examination commission appointed by the FSC, it is possible to enroll in a practical training organized by the Bulgarian Stock Exchange AD for working with the Xetra ©, RTS and for the practical application of the rules of trading.

Tradition of BAAMC and BALII

BAAMC and BALII have held courses for brokers and investment advisers every year since the summer of 2010. There is already a tradition for those who have passed the courses of the associations to perform very well at the exams before the FSC, with success rates ranging from 80 to 100% in both specialties.

Course prices

The prices of the training amount to BGN 750 for the courses for investment advisors (80 teaching hours) and BGN 620 for the courses for brokers (60 teaching hours). The training will start on September 19, 2020 and will end on November 1, 2020. It is also planned to conduct, on request, outside the form of the course, with additional payment, a trial exam on November 7, 2020 and additional classes (exercises), as well as consultations.

The course for brokers and investment advisers of BALII and BAAMC will be provided in case that 16 or more students are recruited.

The members of BALII and BAAMC will be able to use discounts from the above fees for candidates selected by them, and in these cases the price of the courses for investment advisers will be BGN 630, and for brokers – BGN 490.

There is also a discount for former students of BALII and BAAMC from previous courses, who will pay 80% of the respective fees. If a participant wishes to attend both courses, he pays the fee for the course for investment advisers plus 50% of the fee for the course for brokers.

Fees are paid only by bank transfer. In case the minimum number of students is not recruited, the fees of the candidates who have paid for the course will be refunded (retunded) to their bank accounts within 3 working days, starting from September 20, 2020.
